Sujet : Ontology and Terminology for Cultural Heritage : Application to the Chinese Containers

Résumé : Traditional approaches to terminology management rely on charting and organizing the terminology of specific domains in terminological databases and ontologies. Although this type of terminological work is supported by a wide range of software tools to analyze and process domain-specific document collections, a substantial part of the process still relies on human expert knowledge and is therefore time consuming. However, in an age of accelerating innovation and Big Data, it is no longer possible to keep up with the sheer amount of new publications and newly coined terms through traditional terminological work. Terminological resources will have to be updated automatically and the resulting uncertainty will have to be taken into account by underlying data models. Terminologists will have to develop intelligent strategies to safeguard and control the overall quality of automatically created and updated resources. The workflows using these resources also need to take into account the uncertainty in term-concept mappings. Cultural heritage is an important inheritence of human civilization. There are many different in Terminology of Chinese cultural heritage from others country. In this thesis we will focus on the terminology of cultural heritage for Chinese ancient ceramics, which is related to descriping, classifying and publishing cultural heritage on the semantic web.
